Help The Kinaffe SchoolOn April 1st, the Kinaffe School in Swinford, Ireland, opened its doors to 14 new Ukrainian Refugee Students who had been relocated to a nearby hotel due to the ongoing conflict at home. Since April, an additional three students have joined. These children have been displaced from their homes without any of their belongings and are trying to acclimate to a new country and culture where they don't speak the language while their homeland is being destroyed. Our current initiative is working toward providing each child with an IPad so that they can translate English to Ukranian. A standard QWERTY keyboard does not reflect the Ukranian alphabet which is why an IPad is essential to helping the children learn English along with other helpful apps we will help provide. Additionally, we are committed to meeting their basic needs for clothing as we head into colder

Updates from the Kinaffe School Staff:
We've been able to use some of the fundraised monies to pay for horse riding and transportation costs. Horse Riding is so good and animal therapy is very beneficial for these children and brings great joy as many have left pets behind. The students love riding horses and we are teaching them English with the commands like stand up in stirrups, trot on, walk forward, etc. The first English word they all knew
The sports and swim wear that was donated are being utilized and we've already seen many move up swimming levels. We had 2 children in level 2 swimming in September and now
We have also been able to buy uniforms for the children including tracksuits and new polos for our Physical Education classes as well as new curriculum school books, writing and art supplies so that the children don't to worry about providing anything when they come to school.
