Getting to Your Holiday Destinations Safely

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, you may be planning a road trip to visit friends or family. Thanksgiving is the biggest travel day of the year and with all those vehicles on the roads, travel can be stressful--and dangerous. Stay safe with these tips:

  • Make sure you are up to date on maintenance. Get your car checked and top of fluids--don't forget wiper fluid in case you hit some snowy weather!
  • Go early if possible. Traveling early in the morning or even a day or two before the holiday means less traffic on the roads. You'll get a cushion to work with if you're delayed by snow, so you won't need to drive in unsafe conditions.
  • Plan your route and timing. You don't want to end up driving through a metro area during rush hour, so plan to avoid the traffic by strategic timing, or a more rural route.
  • Make a checklist to avoid having to stop to pick up things you may have forgotten.

A safe and happy holiday season to all from all of us here at Coastal Nissan!
